Latest released version: SimpleID v2.0.106, July 30, 2010. Right-click on the link and select "Save target as": SimpleID installer, 24Mb. It is recommended to read the documentation before installing the software.

Prerequisites: The following software components MUST be installed BEFORE installing SimpleID. You may choose to download them from our web site, however it is recommended to lookup the latest versions on the Internet:

  • Microsoft .Net framework version 3.5 SP1 (or later). If you have Windows Automatic Updates enabled, most likely this components will already be present on your PC. If it is not yet installed you may run Windows Update or download the .Net 3.5 SP1 framework manually.
  • MS SQL 2005/2008 Express. For your convenience we provide the links to MS SQL 2005 Express 32bit and 64bit editions.

Optional components:

  • MS SQL Native Client. Required only when installing SimpleID on multiple computers. For your convenience we provide the links MS SQL Native Client 2005 32bit, 64bit (x64) and 64bit (ia64) editions.
  • MS SQL Management Studio Express. Recommended when installing SimpleID on multiple computers. For your convenience we provide the links to MS SQL Management studio Express 2005 32bit and 64bit (x64) editions.
  • Bonjour service discovery protocol. Required only if you would like SimpleID software to automatically detect all Mercury controllers available on the network. For your convenience we provide the link to Bonjour version 2.0.0.34.

Note: Some users reported the problem of an unusually high CPU usage and slow performance. This problem is related to .Net animation. To avoid the problem download and install the latest video card drivers on your PC/Laptop. Also turn off all the power saving and performance optimization features in the video card properties. Set the performance of the video card to the maximum. This applies to laptop and desktop computers.

Demo mode: The installation files include both, real and demo, versions of the software. During the installation you have to select whether you want to install a demonstration or working software. Demo version does not communicate with hardware, but it has the ability to simulate system activity.

Licenses: Unregistered version of the program may be used during a 30-day trial period. Unregistered version allows adding only one reader and advanced features such as ID card design, time & attendance are disabled. After the 30-days trial period expires, users must either purchase the full version for SimpleID or apply for a free license.

When reporting a problem, please be as detailed as possible:
  • Include software error codes. If an error message is displayed, click on the "Details" button, copy the error text to clipboard and then paste into an email message or attach as a text file.
  • Describe what steps should be taken in order to duplicate the error.
  • Add screen shots if appropriate. When error message or condition is displayed on the screen press Print Screen (or Alt + Print Screen) on your keyboard. Then start MS Paint or MS Word program, press Ctrl+V or select "Paste" from the "Edit" menu. This way the error message image will be transferred to MS Paint or MS Word and you will be able to save and email it to us.
